  • Off-Axis Parabolic Mirrors

Off-Axis Parabolic (OAP) Mirrors are used throughout sophisticated reflective optical systems today. Our customers use OAP’s in beam expanders, collimators, airborne imaging systems, telescopes, and as focusing elements for high-energy lasers. OAPs offer the advantages of compact geometry, simplification in optical design over refractive optics, and very high accuracy imaging over a broad spectral range.

  • Aspheric Optics

Our customers use aspheres in beam expanders, collimators, airborne imaging systems, telescopes, and as focusing elements for high-energy lasers. Aspheric systems offer the advantages of compact geometry and enhanced performance. We design and manufacture parabolas, hyperboloids, ellipsoids, cylinders, and freeforms. We work in all glass types and specialize in optics made from Silicon Carbide for space and aerospace applications. Our applications engineers work with you to define specifications matching your product performance demands and can plan options for prototyping through production.

  • Silicon Carbide Optics

Silicon Carbide (SiC) is an advanced composite ceramic material developed for applications in Aerospace, Semiconductor Lithography, and Astronomy. This unique material has the highest combination of thermal and mechanical stability of any material which can be optically polished making it perfect for high performance lightweight mirrors mounted on aircraft and spacecraft for imaging, laser targeting and communications applications. Silicon carbide is also used in commercial applications such as lightweight scan mirrors, semiconductor wafer handling, and reflective imaging systems. AOS has pioneered an industry-leading process for manufacturing SiC optics for industry, defense, and research applications. We produce more SiC optics than anyone else in North America.

  • Ceramic YAG Amplifier Slabs

  • AOS Modular Laser Mirror Mounts

AOS' innovative modular mirror mounts enable low stress, kinematic mounting of large optics.

  • Laser Optics

Aperture Optical Sciences, Inc. and Okamoto Optics (Yokohama, Japan) have collaborated to provide a full range of optics manufacturing capability.

  • Custom Optronics & Mounts

Precision optics will only perform when assembled into opto-mechanical assemblies that that are designed and manufactured to minimize the effects of thermal gradients, vibration, gravity, and dynamic loading. AOS’s core competencies in optics manufacturing, metrology and opto-mechanical modeling lay the foundation for enabling our products to deliver superior performance when deployed in a variety of laboratory and extreme environments. We use a combination of standard platforms and mechanisms plus custom designs to meet the specialized needs of our customers.

  • Reference Flats

Standard Reference Flats & Mirrors are available sizes from 4 inches through 24 inches and calibrated flatness up to λ/30. Aperture Optical Sciences Inc. provides sales, service, and engineering support with manufacturing by our collaborative partner, Okamoto Optics, of Yokohama Japan.

  • Mirrors

Linear Reference Mirrors for coordinate position referencing are available in lengths up to 3 meters. Aperture Optical Sciences Inc. provides sales, service, and engineering support with manufacturing by our collaborative partner, Okamoto Optics, of Yokohama Japan.

  • Interferometers

Aperture Optical Sciences Inc., and Okamoto Optics have collaborated to create an advanced capability to design and integrate custom inteferometer expansion systems for special wavelengths and applications. We use your 4 or 6 inch aperture system or will supply a commercially available unit - we can expand the aperture up to 28 inches and provide custom features for your specialized applications.
